SHARED RHYTHMS

SEASON OF LENT

We participate in Lent through giving up and taking up: giving up what can distract us to create space for us to hear and respond to God; taking up practices that ground us, realign us, and increase our attention to God’s voice.

Neighborhood Prayer

Join us on Wednesday mornings at 7AM, beginning March 8, in the Conference Room off the City Manager's Office with others for prayer for our neighborhood and our city.

Every Sunday at 4:30PM we pray for God's presence and peace at our Sunday gathering. Children are welcome.

Worship Gatherings

We gather every Sunday at 5PM to reorient our lives around following Jesus and the flourishing of Englewood. We host a simple, hospitable service with music, prayers, teaching, and intentional space for growing in relationships with each other. Childcare is provided Nursery – Elementary.

Community Dinner

We are committed to gathering people around a table for good food and good conversations. We have a monthly Community Dinner after our Worship Gathering where we invite parishioners, neighbors, and local leadership to connect with each other. Our monthly Community Dinner is at Acoma at 6PM on the last Sunday of each month

NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL

Our partnerships with a local elementary school, locally owned businesses, and community leaders work towards the ongoing social renewal of our neighborhood.

TEACHING

TEACHING SERIES

The Sacred Grace Englewood follows a shared teaching calendar based on the historic seasons of the Church. The sermons and series are to equip and encourage us to follow the way of Jesus and as we join God in what He is doing in the lives we are already living.

Becoming-Series-2016

BECOMING

When we talk about who we are becoming, we are talking about becoming who we really are. Becoming our truest selves, the people God created us to be. We were created with intention and called by God, but our sin and brokenness muddle that intention and mute our ability to hear God’s call. Because of God’s lavish grace for us, seen in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus we can recover that original intention and hear God’s call again.

The questions we ask most in this endeavor are: “What is life?” “Who is God?” and “How do I respond?" Join us, as we explore these questions and talk about our values as a community: Life is SACRED, God is GRACE, and together respond by moving UP toward God, IN toward each other, and OUT to the world. These are the targets we’re aiming for, the direction we’re moving, who we are becoming together as The Sacred Grace Englewood.

LEADERSHIP

Nathan Hoag - Neighborhood Pastor

Nathan has called Colorado home for most of his life and values the outdoors as he climbs, skis, and mountain bikes whenever time allows. Nathan is a graduate of Denver Seminary and ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Nathan has worked part-time for Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey since 2013.  He was on staff at Cherry Hills Community Church from 2011 - 2015 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Denver Rescue Mission.

Nathan and his wife Julie are foster, biological, and adoptive parents. They believe in making a deep and lasting impact in their neighborhood and seeing lives change at the ground level. Nathan is a big fan of the craft-everything movement in Denver and cares way too much about how his coffee is roasted.

Canaan HurSt - Worship Director

Canaan has lived in the Denver metro area since 2014 and truly enjoys all of what Colorado has to offer through taking photos and shooting video. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and owns a video production company based in Englewood, Colorado. Having worked a fair share of coffee shop jobs around Denver, Canaan loves any excuse to visit many of Denver's coffee establishments to work, befriend, and socialize.

Canaan has led musical worship at churches, summer camps, and retreats throughout his life, and understands that music is only a piece in the worship we offer to God when the body gathers together. He is passionate about God's call to seek, serve, and love the city of Englewood Colorado with the love of God and wholeheartedly desires to see the neighborhood grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.

Charlene Redwine - KIDS DIRECTOR

Charlene grew up as a missionary kid in the Dominican Republic. She saw her parents answer God’s call for serving and knew that one day she would answer His call on her own life. After graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in illustration, she found herself being led by faith to Denver. As God guided her, she realized that He was not only calling her to use her creative skills for His kingdom, but also to use her heart for serving through children and youth ministry.

Currently, Charlene serves on staff at both The Sacred Grace Englewood and TNL in KIDS ministry. She also is on staff at Celebration Community Church in youth ministry. Charlene enjoys taking her Golden Retriever on walks and eating ice cream all year round.

SUPPORTING THE SACRED GRACE

To join God in his renewing work of our lives and our neighborhoods we depend on the consistent and generous contributions of individuals and organizations. The Sacred Grace is a 501(c)3 organization.

why we give

This prayer of generosity we say each week reflects why we choose to give.

All that we have we have received from God. We bring nothing into this world and we take nothing out of it. We choose to follow the way of Jesus and increase in generosity until it can be said, ”there is no one in need among us.” We choose to be faithful stewards of all our resources: relationships, time, possessions, and money. We choose to be generous because our Father is generous, and as his daughters and sons we want to show the world what He is like.
